What is SunClick?
SunClick is a compact, intelligent circuit controller designed to be installed directly inside your switchboard. It controls your resistive electric water heater, to find a better time each day for it to run — making the most of local solar and lower-cost power.
How does it work?
When local solar power generation is high, local grid voltage rises. SunClick monitors your local voltage, and by learning from your power usage, it selects a time when your electric water heater should run to make the most of available solar that day - whether or not you have your own rooftop solar system.
If your electricity tariff structure varies at different times of day, SunClick can factor this in too, favouring low-cost periods as well as periods with higher solar availability.

Impact on your experience
Your water heater keeps working exactly as it always has — there's nothing to change and nothing you need to monitor day to day.
SunClick also has a companion app that lets you monitor your system, track estimated savings, and override control if you choose to at any point.

Impact on the grid
By shifting water heating to periods of high local solar generation, SunClick helps absorb excess solar energy and eases voltage rise on the local grid — supporting a more stable network for the whole street.

Compatibility
Consider your water heater
SunClick is designed to control single-phase circuits for resistive electric water heaters. It is suitable for any resistive electric water heater up to 3.6 kW.
SunClick is not suitable for heat pump systems.
Tank capacity
80L – 400L
Wattage
1.8kW – 3.6kW
House power
Single phase
Element type
Resistive
Consider your home
Unlike a solar diverter system, SunClick does not require you to have your own solar PV system for you to benefit. It works from the local voltage measurement, so it suits a home with or without solar panels.
